PUBLIC POLICY
Engineering insights for policy makers.
ASME’s public policy segment strives to provide a valuable public service to the nation and give engineers a unique opportunity to participate directly in the policy making process.ASME was the first society to provide policy makers access to engineering talent; for the past 45 years, ASME has sponsored 120 ASME Federal Government Fellows in the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government. The 115th congress now counts 8 engineers amongst its 535 members.
FEDERAL FELLOWS PROGRAM
The ASME Federal Government Fellowship Program enables selected ASME members to devote a year to working in government, providing engineering and technical advice to policy makers in the U.S., Congress, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Federal Agencies.https://www.asme.org/about-asme/get-involved/advocacy-government-relations/federal-fellows-program
