Let ASME help start your career in engineering with a scholarship.

Graduating High School students are the next generation of engineers!

The ASME High School Scholarships are available for graduating High School (HS) seniors interested in pursuing engineering degrees. Students must be enrolled full-time in an ABET- accredited* or substantially equivalent** mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology program, no later than the fall after their senior year in high school. These awards will be for the first year of study (non-renewable).

Application Opens December 2024

Timeline: 

The High School Senior application will open December 1, 2024 for the 2025-2026 academic year. 

  • High School Senior Application Deadline March 15
  • By July 31: All applicants will be notified of the scholarship results.
  • By September 1: Scholarship checks will be sent to the college or university, with checks mailed and made payable to the schools for direct payment of educational expenses. No money will be issued to students.

*The college the student is planning to attend must have a Mechanical Engineering (ME) program accredited by the Accreditation Board on Engineering Technology (ABET). Questions about whether a given program has received this accreditation may be answered by the college or university, or by checking listings on the ABET website (www.abet.org) or, for non-listed programs, contacting ASME.
 
**Substantially equivalent means that at least 25% of your courses would be from the Mechanical Engineering Department.
