According to the 2018 Wind Technologies Market Report, published by the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, the United States added 258 GW of generating capacity from 2009 to 2018, with 41 percent of that total coming from natural gas-fired power plants, 28 percent from wind, and 20 percent from solar power.
