We offer courses for engineers, designers, technicians, and business leaders working within multidisciplinary engineering industries and companies. Many of our offerings are centered around ASME’s Codes & Standards, but we also offer a robust mix of courses in topics such as project management, product innovation, leadership, and design.

ASME Learning & Development has been approved as an Accredited Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). 

In obtaining this approval, ASME Learning & Development has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard, which is widely recognized as the Standard of good practice in the development and delivery of training programs. As a result of this, ASME is accredited to award IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard.

ASME Learning & Development is not providing hard copies of certificates at this time.

To access your certificate:

• Navigate to https://elearning.asme.org/
• Enter your ASME credentials to login
• On the dashboard, click My Activities (or go to the top left menu and select My Activities)
• Select Courses
• Click the black ribbon icon adjacent to the name of the course to download the certificate

Note: for those who attended an in-person, ASME course prior to March 2020, please contact CustomerCare@asme.org to request a copy of your certificate.

We offer both Live and On Demand formats in courses, learning paths, and credentials to support multiple career stages and format preferences for engineering professionals. Learn more about our learning experiences. 

Certificate of completion will be issued to registrants who earn the specified minimum cumulative passing score on exam(s) and/or assignments. Students may have multiple attempts to complete their exam. Please consult your course description for more information.    

If you are interested in becoming an instructor with ASME Learning and Development, please click here to complete an initial inquiry form. We will respond to your submission with next steps.

1.  Attend at least 90% of an ASME Live classroom event or review 90% of On Demand content.  
2. Complete required coursework.  Coursework includes class assignments, group work, and assessments.
3.  Participate in class discussions.  Discussions include in class Q&A, polls, and online discussion boards.

Please note:  If you cannot attend 90% of an ASME Virtual Classroom event, or there is an issue with completing coursework, please contact Customer Support at CustomerCare@asme.org.  

ASME Virtual Classroom is a live course with an instructor and peers held in an online learning environment with digital enhancements and online materials. Learn more about virtual classroom features and benefits.

Capacity in each course is limited so early enrollment is encouraged. If your course requires materials to be shipped to you then registration is required no less than two weeks prior to the start of the course. For courses that use digital materials only, registration is required no less than one week prior. If enrollment has been closed online or you want to register in less than the required days, please contact ASME Customer Care for potential options.

ASME confirms every course registration by email. If you have not received confirmation after registering for your course, please contact ASME Customer Care.

Note: In order to facilitate the troubleshooting, take note of any error messages that you are seeing, the operating system and browser you are accessing the content from and any steps you took to troubleshoot.

Depending on the course, recordings of the live sessions may be available. Contact our Learning Experience Team to find out if your course will have recordings available. Please note, however, replaying and/or listening to the recording of a Virtual Classroom is not a substitute for attendance and is only provided for convenience. You must attend 90% or greater of any live course to receive a certificate, including virtual classroom.

Physical course material is shipped directly to your primary address—so please be sure your ASME profile is up to date. Digital materials are distributed via ASME’s Learning Hub. Included course materials and format vary by class, so please be sure you read each course description carefully.

Learner security and privacy is our top priority. All learners enter our Virtual Classroom courses through ASMEs password-protected Learning Hub. Once in class, communications in our instance of Zoom are established using 256-bit TLS encryption and all shared content can be encrypted using AES-256 encryption. Our meeting rooms also utilize a waiting room, moderated by a member of our team to ensure that only students on the attendance list will be admitted into the class. ASME In Person courses are live, face-to-face course offerings that range from one to five days in length and are scheduled throughout the year in major cities across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Beginning February 1, 2022, ASME in-person activities will follow the state and local laws, regulations and guidelines regarding COVID-19 applicable to the location of the event.  Learn more about the ASME Anywhere policy here.

Customized group training held privately for your organization, specifically designed to address your company’s training needs, reducing your travel expenses, and perhaps most importantly, allowing your attendees to discuss proprietary and company-specific problems which might not otherwise be discussed in a public setting. We can work with as few as 8 to as many as you need. The larger the class size, the more cost effective the training becomes on a per-person basis.
 

ASME Learning & Development offers an extensive catalog of courses. Any of these courses, depending on instructors’ availability, can be offered to your team.

ASME will work with you personally to put together the training including any customization of the course, desired execution dates, and a planning call with the instructor to discuss your specific needs.
 

Yes. Courses can be modified to provide new topics or additional content on a given subject. Courses can also be condensed to spend less time on topics that are not required.

Generally, 5-6 weeks are needed from the time we have company approval via receipt of purchase order. This allows us to work with your company and the instructors to customize the course, set up logistics and order the materials.

On Demand courses allow you to pursue training virtually on your own time at your own pace – 24/7. Our courses consist of a variety of interactive content including video, audio, assessments, case studies and assignments. Some courses offer instructor-supported teaching with subject matter experts readily available.

Our On Demand content is best viewed on a Windows or Mac computer using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari browsers.  Mobile access is not available at this time.

For courses with required assessments, a passing score of 75% with unlimited attempts is required in order to receive a certificate of completion (unless otherwise noted on the course page on ASME.org).   

For assessments with unlimited attempts, there is no waiting period for reattempting an assessment.  Simply go back, review course material and re-take your assessment. 

Assignments will be graded in accordance with the provided grading rubric.  Instructor will grade assignments and provide feedback within 2-3 business days.  Learners are permitted to re-upload their assignment if they do not achieve the minimum score. 

Digital certificates of completions can be accessed after you complete your On Demand course. In the ASME's Learning Hub you can access your certificates in the main menu by selecting My Activities, then selecting Courses, and selecting the certificate icon next to your completed course(s).
 

A one-time, 30-day extension to course content may be granted under extenuating circumstances. Learners can apply for extensions by contacting ASME Customer Care

For Self Study courses, learners generally have access to courses material for 365 days (unless specified otherwise), starting from the date of purchase. For Guided Study and Virtual Classroom courses, you will have access to your course for the duration of the session in which you are enrolled. You can still access the ASME Learning Hub after your course has expired to download your Certificate of Completion. Visit the course description for specific details about each course.

All course attendees who are not ASME members, and are paying the non-member rate for a course, are eligible to apply for a free four-month ASME Trial Membership with select benefits. This includes all ASME self study, guided study, and live courses for individuals, individuals who attended an ASME Corporate Training course, and learners from courses provided by ASME Authorized Training Providers. Instructions on how to apply will be provided by ASME via email upon the completion of the course.

If you require a letter of invitation for the ASME Learning & Development Course as part of a visa application, you must submit a written request to ASME Customer Care. Please note that only after full payment of your registration fees will ASME provide an official invitation letter.
