Special Issue: Tribute to Michael R. Lovell
Journal of Tribology
Prof. Lovell made significant contributions to tribology, publishing over 100 articles, authoring influential books, and holding numerous patents. His leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee transformed it into a leading tribology research hub. He chaired the 2012 International Joint Tribology Conference and served as an Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Tribology, leaving an indelible mark on the field.
Beyond his academic achievements, President Lovell’s leadership at Marquette University fostered innovation, entrepreneurship, and community revitalization. His remarkable ability to inspire and guide others created a vibrant atmosphere for growth and creativity. He was also an active volunteer for the ASME Tribology Division.
We honor his legacy and ensure his pioneering spirit continues to inspire the tribology community. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will endure for generations to come.

Papers received after the deadline or papers not selected for the Special Issue may be accepted for publication in a regular issue.
